Enter the Tantric vision of reality—and discover how the principles of manifestation become your path to liberation.
Introducing:
The Tantric Map of Manifestation & Liberation
A foundational, practice-based immersion into the cosmology, metaphysics, and liberating vision of non-dual Śaiva Tantra.
For more than a thousand years, the non-dual Tantric tradition of Kashmir has described manifestation as the process through which one infinite Consciousness, in complete freedom, unfolds into everything we experience, including a body, a mind and the sense of being a separate person. The tradition maps this unfolding in thirty-six principles called the tattvas. Learning them gives you the foundation for the entire Tantric view of reality: the path of manifestation and liberation.
Join The Interest ListWhy Study the Tattvas?
Popular spiritual teachings on manifestation start with you and what you want. Non-dual Śaiva Tantra starts with Consciousness itself and describes how the whole of reality comes into being through thirty-six principles, the tattvas. To study them is to study manifestation as a cosmic process, one that can’t be separated from the path of liberation.
Swami Lakshmanjoo, the last in an unbroken chain of masters of the oral tradition of Kashmir Śaivism, called the 36 tattvas “the most important points for entering in Shaivism.” For anyone drawn to manifestation, there’s a more personal reason to know them. The tattvas describe how Consciousness, in complete freedom, comes to experience itself as a limited person, and in the Tantric view, that person is you. That means the creative power behind all of manifestation is also the power at work in your own life. By studying the tattvas, you begin to see how the same power that manifests the universe continually shapes your experience—and what becomes possible when you recognize that power as your own.
The Body as a Living Map
A central principle of Tantra is that the human being is a microcosm of the larger cosmos: the same principles of reality expressed in the cosmos can also be located within the body.
Scholar Gavin Flood uses the term entextualization to describe the Tantric process of inscribing a tradition’s cosmology into the subtle body through practice—so that, as he puts it, “the body becomes the text.”
In this immersion, we will work with the tattvas in this embodied way. Through meditation, contemplation, visualization, and other practices, we will locate and experience these 36 principles of reality within the subtle body. In this way, Tantric cosmology becomes a living map that we can access through practice and use in the service of recognition and liberation.
Immersion Format
The immersion will be a two-part course consisting of twenty live two-hour classes: ten in the spring and ten in the fall. Each part will follow a rhythm of two consecutive weeks of classes followed by an integration week.
The time between classes will allow you to practice, integrate what you are learning into daily life, and return to each session with your own experience to draw from. It also allows for a substantial course of study without overwhelming the rest of your life.
Between the spring and fall sessions, we will have an extended period for personal practice and integration, with additional opportunities to come together for guided practice.
Because this is designed as a live cohort experience, regular live attendance is expected. The conversations, questions, reflections, and shared inquiry that happen within the group are an important part of the learning process. This is not intended to be a recordings-only course.
Participants will also have access to a private online portal with class recordings, course materials, guided practices, and other resources, along with a private discussion space for questions, reflections, and connection between sessions.
Final dates, schedule, tuition, and course structure will be shared with those on the interest list before enrollment opens.
